How it all started….and continued
Theatre Someone is based in Divonne les Bains, a small French town near Switzerland’s Geneva. It grew out of conversations between like-minded theatre enthusiasts who were interested in using their various talents to present small, innovative productions simply staged in interesting venues.
Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me in the Galerie Mimensis, Geneva Old Town.
Our productions to date include:
Israel Horovitz’s My Old Lady
A Tale of Two Voltaires meticulously researched by members of the group and written by Susan Leather
A Poem for My Sister devised and written by Lesley Sherwood and Susan Leather
The Devil and Bily Markham by Shel Silverstein
Jane Austen invites…. devised and written by Susan Leather and Lesley Sherwood from an idea by Sue Humphreys
Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett

We have also arranged a concert by the Chamber Choir of Kaluga from Russia in conjunction with the Commune de Divonne.
We have performed our plays in art galleries, cafes, bars, clubs, hotels, community halls, small theatres, schools and universites in France, Switzerland and the UK.
Over the years, we are proud to have taken three of our productions to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with very pleasing results, Jane Austen invites… being an official sell out.
The latest producton is Israel Horovitz’s My Old Lady which we staged in May 2016 in the Emmanuel Church, Geneva, Switzerland and the Salle Ausone l’Esplanade du Lac in Divonne les Bains, France and are currently arranging to take to the Alma Tavern & Theatre in Clifton, Bristol, UK.
